During our year among the believers in Antioch, we were always welcoming leaders of the faith onto our ministry team. Whenever one of the saints was passing through town - especially down from Jerusalem - we invited them to come and share with us in the Gospel ministry, spend time in our homes and minister to us and our people. It was always so refreshing to have them and their giftings flowing among us, glorifying G-d!
On one occasion in particular, Brother Agabus (down from Jerusalem) had the Spirit of the Lord come upon him during the meeting and propheysied that a severe famine would spread over the entire Roman world.
What a heavy word this was to us, and we prayed as a community and asked G-d what He required from us by way of a response. Communally, we decided that each of us, according to how we were able, would provide help for our spiritual family living in Judea. Once we had made the collection and packed it all up, Saul and I set out for Judea.
